All active memberships prior to the COVID-19 shutdown will be re-activated. If you would like to be excluded from the re-activation, please let us know via email at info@grappelabbjj.com ASAP.

Students must pick 2 individuals from their social circle who will be their dedicated training partners (to form a group 3), or form a group of 3 and acknowledge that these teammates will now be a part of your social circle until restrictions change. For safety we recommend your training partners be similar in size.

If you are having difficulty determining who your dedicated training partners will be, please let Mani or Matt know and we will try to facilitate partners where possible.

If you feel more comfortable choosing only 1 training partner, have that discussion amongst yourselves and commit to being a group of 2.

You may reserve a spot in class as long as a minimum of 2 of your group 3 partners will be attending. All 3 do not need to be present for each class, but you cannot ‘sub’ in additional teammates to form a group of 3 for that class

Students must reserve their spot in class via the Zen Planner app with their dedicated training partners prior to attending. Reservations will remain open up until the start of class or until the class is full. There will be a maximum of 4 groups of 3 training partners on the mats per class.

All students must review the screening questionnaire from Toronto Public Health posted on the Grapple Lab website prior to each class. If any of the questions apply to you, you cannot attend class and we recommend you refer to the following website for further guidance:

    • Students must be on time, and leave immediately after class.

    • Change rooms are closed; you must show up in your uniform (gi on nogi). Bathrooms will be open to 1 person at a time only. Please wash your hands with soap and warm water for 30 seconds prior to returning to the mats.

    • Masks must be worn prior to entering the gym and may be removed just prior to starting class. Masks must be worn again immediately after class until you exit the building.

    • There are hand sanitizer stations set up at the entrance to the club, please sanitize your hands thoroughly prior to entering.

    • All students must wear flip flops or sandals while not on the BJJ mats. Please change into these immediately upon taking off your outdoor shoes at the entrance.

    • To streamline traffic, students will enter through the regular entrance and exit through the middle double doors.

    • Students must exercise physical distancing where possible and remain in their designated area while training.

    • The mats will be disinfected and dried immediately before and after each class.

Join a BJJ community that is passionate, determined, and supportive. Whether you’re here for a day or committed to years, we’ve got exactly what you need.

Grapple Lab is hands down the best BJJ gym in the city. If you are an absolute beginner, an experienced hobbyist, or an active competitor, you will enjoy training at this gym. Professors Matt and Mani are easily approachable and they have a deep knowledge of BJJ that they want to share with their students. The classes at GL are super fun but also physically challenging and mind-expanding. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Been training here for a long time. The instructors are great at breaking down and teaching important fundamental concepts and then expanding that knowledge with a structured curriculum. The friendly environment is also very important as everyone helps each other out! I can’t imagine training anywhere else!

I have been training at Grapple Lab for about a year now and it has really helped me improve my jiujitsu. Matt and Mani are excellent instructors and are always willing to help you out. I’ve trained at a few gyms in the past and what I find different about Grapplelab is they focus on one concept for at least a couple weeks. this has really helped me refine my techniques and figure out my game. Everyone I have trained with at Grapplelab has a great attitude and it’s definitely easy to make new friends here.
